Stacey Stephens is currently the Associate Costume Designer and Production Wardrobe Supervisor for Disney’s The Lion King. Previously he worked as  the Artistic Director of Fiddlehead Theatre Company in Boston.  His productions have been met with both critical acclaim and audience enthusiasm. His production of Show Boat won Boston’s Elliot Norton Award for Best Musical in 2016.  He has been awarded the Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) ten times, twice for best direction, six times for best costume design, and twice for best musical.  Stacey has toured extensively with Disney’s The Lion King, Wicked, Les Miserables, and Memphis and has worked on the Broadway productions of Escape to Margaritaville, Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe and Bandstand.  He traveled to Antwerp, Belgium to assist Tony Award Winning costume designer, Andreane Neofitou, with the first Flemish production of Les Miserables.   Stacey has directed and designed for not only Fiddlehead Theatre, but for the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Wick Theatre(Boca Raton, FL), Speakeasy Stage, Wheelock Family Theatre, Reagle Music Theatre, New Rep, Stoneham Theatre(all Boston), the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, the 2019 and 2023 BC/EFA Easter Bonnet Competition and for Broadway Bares:  Take Off.  Stacey is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.  Stacey and his husband Arthur Cuadros formed Start Theatrical, a producing and investment company.  Their first investment was with the Tony winning revival of Stephen Sondheim's Company. They have recently invested in Merrily We Roll Along (featuring Daniel Radcliffe),Hamlet, a pop musical; Superyou, Mandela, and the touring production of Company which starts this fall.
